While I utilize forms and colors from popular culture, I also maintain a primitive appearance through the figurative, symbolic, and flat nature of each work, which preserves the honest foundation of my art. I wish to produce work that excites the imagination and encourages authentic feeling and virtue.

My work is realist in nature focused on the Urban landscape. Working in pencil, pastel, etching and oil I am seeking to give the viewer a fresh look at their everyday surroundings by tapping into their appreciation of the esthetics invoked by 18th and 19th century realist artists' works.

This project is the “Portraits of Unknown Actors” series. In this work, actors perform the scene of a play or exhibit their own emotions in front of the camera, and I focus on capturing the expressive moments that they reveal with visual language. Through this process I want to exhibit the actors’ intense emotional states and the characterizations of them as actors in their quotidian spaces.

My motivation to create art is a culmination of events from my personal life, the places I have traveled and the people I have met along the way. The layering of different techniques such as gestural and graphic paintings continues to inspire me. The final products consists of a graphic on plexi glass mounted on top of the gestural painting, which are done on canvas.
