Bill Rozar

Influenced by classical music, jazz and rock, Bill Rozar’s original improvisations express passion and yearning.  His music will take you on your own journey of mind and spirit.  For the BoCoCa Festival, he will be performing original piano compositions and improvisations.   His other talents are guitarist and songwriter, creator of a Brooklyn-based theatrical glam/rock group called “Witches In Bikinis.”

BR and TIMEBOMB

BR is a hip-hop artist from Brooklyn, New York. BR (Beyond Recognition) has developed a cool, energetic and focused style over his years working both with other groups and on his own. BR put together TIMEBOMB, a seven-piece band, in 2002. For the past six years BR and TIMEBOMB have performed at a number of venues in and around New York City, including Studio 54, Webster Hall, Union Square Park, NAMA (New Amsterdam Musical Association), the National Black Theater and The Apollo Theater; and have ventured out of NYC to Hofstra University on Long Island and Oberlin College in Ohio.

TIMEBOMB features Olivia Martinez (violin/viola), Jibrail Nor (drums), Shanelle D. Jenkins (trumpet), Kyle Eaddy (lead Guitar) and Stacy Beatty, Jr. (bass). These talented musicians have experience with a wide range of musical styles. Timebomb combines R&B, rock, reggae, funk, Soul, jazz, classical and pop to create music that is strictly hip-hop. Fans of the band have compared BR and Timebomb to OutKast, The Roots, the Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West and Earth, Wind & Fire. BR and Timebomb is a unique combination of their greatest influences.

BR and TIMEBOMB recently released their first three singles on Itunes, Cdbaby and several other websites. They are working on completing the rest of their album, as well as touring throughout New York City and along the East Coast.

Carly Howard is an aspiring singer-songwriter originally from Denver.  Once a first grade teacher, she now lives in Williamsburg pursuing her love of music.  She is a member of the Complete Theatre Company and would like to own her own children's' theatre one day.  When not performing or rehearsing, she continues her search for the best lasagna in the city.

The E-Boro Bandits are an old time Country Band with a shot of Moonshine. They perform a repertoire filled with americana, folk, bluegrass and an occasional rock tune. Along with a swinging country rhythm section, the E Boro-Bandits feature several talented soloists ranging from bluesy harp, to pedal steel, banjo and mandolin.

Maia Macdonald

Maia Macdonald began her musical journey at age 7 after she was given a drum on the streets of Barranquilla, Colombia. She is now a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter who has developed a loyal following through her gigs at Union Hall, Pete's Candy Store, and The Sidewalk Café. In 2008, Maia performed in the Deli Magazine showcase for the Art Under the Bridge festival in DUMBO.

Like most people, we grew up hoping to fill out an Armani suit with an open collar, to have beautiful slicked-back hair, and to share a starlit dinner with a deep-eyed brunette by the pool of our villa in Bogota. Instead, we ended up in Brooklyn. The Spanish Channel is Romantic Nerd Rock: catchy uptempo songs with harmony vocals, influenced by Weezer, Fountains of Wayne, Foo Fighters, and Ben Folds.
